Hosanna Filio David!

Holy Week began tonight with the Palm Sunday mass. Our Parish, St. Clare, does such a nice job of the procession with palms, banners, incense that I brought my camera to mass. That was the Holy Spirit, I guess, because PACOG was asked to carry the cross at the head of the procession. I was there to capture the pageantry.

We sang Hosanna to the Son of David, and marched into the church. I can't understand why you have the heady adulation of the triumphant entry to Jerusalem , and then go right into the passion reading. I think we used to do that on two separate Sundays back in the day.

Well, the reading was very touching, and two of my favorite songs were sung today: O Sacred Head Surrounded, and Now We Remain. I will share them with you this week.
